Beauty Tool Must-Have: Eyebrow Razor

If there’s one beauty tool that has made a difference in the appearance of my skin it’s this one. I was skeptical for so long, but once I tried it, I was sold. I’m talking about the eyebrow razor. Let me tell you, not just for your eyebrows, you can shave your entire face with it and get rid of all that peach fuzz.

My Travel Routine

In honor of a little extended weekend getaway, I thought I would share with you what I do to get myself ready for travel.

Chicken Rice Bowl: NYC street food style

After having a huge craving for New York City’s Halal Guys‘ rice and chicken bowl, my sweet friend invited us over for a homemade copycat version. She stumbled upon Serious Eats, where she found the recipe. I can tell you right now, it was delicious! So satisfying and I didn’t have to fly to NYC and wait 30 minutes for the original (although that doesn’t sound like a bad plan).

Hijab Tutorial: Amira Turban Twist

I remember one day, I was looking for a solid brown hijab and couldn’t find one in my entire closet. The closest thing was a brown Amira Hijab. From there, I discovered a whole new world of hijab styling. Finally, I found a way to repurpose my huge collection of amira hijabs, that mostly just sat and collected dust. I played around with them and created a bunch of new styles. Here’s the first of many!

Top 5 Clothing Must-Haves

These items are the most basic and essential pieces in my closet. They’re not the most glamorous or standout pieces, however, one way or another, I need them to complete any outfit. They work together or separately with other pieces. They just make the life of a hijabi a lot easier.

The Fool-Proof Friday Series

If you’re like me and sometimes can’t seem to find anything to wear, then this series is for you. I will try to help you navigate the closet to pick outfits that look put together no matter the occasion. Simply follow the formula and you’ll end up with a decent look. If you’re interested then, keep reading!

My first go-to formula:

  1. Monochromatic top and bottom
  2. Add a cropped jacket or cardigan for a pop of color or edge
  3. Statement necklace with a turban hijab or just a simple hijab

I’ve been doing this for so long. It looks effortless and passes the test of time.  The type of jacket or cardigan can be changed in accordance with what’s in at the moment.
